Cancun, Quintana Roo — Cancun Mayor Ana Paty Peralta has not ruled out a run for governor in the 2027 elections, though she insists her current focus remains on governing the city.

In comments that fueled political speculation, Peralta said she is staying cautious about electoral timelines but acknowledged that her performance as mayor will determine any future decisions.

“My work is what will guide me,” she said.

Peralta emphasized that she is fully dedicated to delivering results for residents and has not engaged in political activities outside her municipality. She said her agenda remains centered on Cancun, where she concentrates all her government efforts.

She also stressed the importance of respecting the current political landscape, noting that Quintana Roo has a sitting governor, which she said requires acting responsibly and avoiding premature announcements.

The mayor clarified that she has not undertaken tours or positioning in other municipalities, except for her participation in the Tianguis Turístico tourism fair in Acapulco, after which she immediately returned to her duties.

While not closing the door to a future political aspiration, Peralta is betting on a narrative of work and results, waiting for the right time to define her political path.
