Cancún, Mexico — The Benito Juárez City Council, through the Revenue Department, has begun collecting the property tax for the 2026 fiscal year, offering a series of tiered discounts that will benefit the economy of thousands of taxpayers, while this Friday it continues to receive dozens of people with overdue payments from previous years.
The City Council authorized subsidies for this item, with incentives ranging from 15% to 5%: the highest discount of 15% will apply from January 7 to 21; 10% from January 22 to February 15; and 5% from February 16 to March 15, the date when the campaign concludes.
Additionally, a 50% discount is maintained throughout the year for people with disabilities, pensioners, retirees, and senior adults, provided they meet the established requirements for this vulnerable segment.
Taxpayers can make their payments in cash or with bank cards at multiple points in the city, such as the cashier locations at Tourist Police, Single Window for Procedures, City Hall, “El Torito,” Civil Protection, Transit, Urban Development, Civil Registry in front of Las Palapas Park, CANACO, and the Las Américas and Las Tiendas shopping plazas; while at the Civil Registry in superblocks 94 and 95, as well as at the Alfredo V. Bonfil delegation, only card payments are accepted.
Finally, authorities reminded that online payment is available on the platform www.cancun-digital.mx, although it does not accept checks or American Express cards, thus facilitating compliance from home and avoiding lines at service modules.
