Cancún, Mexico — A significant police mobilization occurred on the morning of Wednesday, November 19, in Supermanzana 260, after residents of the Prado Norte subdivision in Cancún reported the discovery of a deceased person within a green area of the zone.

According to witnesses who were walking along Av. Chetumal, they noticed a body fastened to a tree on a dirt path and immediately notified the corresponding authorities to request support. Minutes later, units from the GEAVIG and elements of the Municipal Police arrived at the site. Upon confirming the presence of the individual, they proceeded to cordon off the area.

During the initial inspection, officers detected that the main entrance to the property was secured with a padlock, which complicated access to the exact point of the discovery.

Due to this situation, the agents requested support from the Fire Department to force the gate open. Nevertheless, after several attempts, they managed to access the property. Once inside, the police conducted a visual inspection without manipulating the corpse, following protocol to preserve evidence.

Minutes later, personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) arrived, including forensic experts and agents from the Investigative Police, who took charge of processing the area. The body was recovered and transferred to the Forensic Medical Service, where the cause of death will be determined and an attempt will be made to establish its identity.
