Cancún, Mexico — The construction of the Cancún Cathedral has shown significant progress in its first stage, which is focused on the celebratory center, with an estimated advancement of between 35 and 40 percent, according to Dulce Delgadillo, the project's donations manager.

Since the press conference held at the end of 2024, the project has maintained a steady pace, driven exclusively by contributions from the local and foreign community. The funding, which is 100 percent dependent on donations from Cancún residents, Quintana Roo residents, and foreign visitors, has been managed through innovative campaigns.

Among these, the sale of symbolic blocks and Sunday activities organized with parishioners stand out, having strengthened community participation and the sense of ownership in the project.

Delgadillo emphasized that the commitment of the donors has been key to reaching this level of progress without relying on public funds.

The next phase of the project will continue to prioritize citizen collaboration, with the goal of establishing the Cancún Cathedral as a space of unity and faith for the region.
