Kantunilkín, QR — Firefighters were unable to save a clothing store that caught fire on Wednesday. Firefighters were called to a business in the town of Kantunilkín early Wednesday morning after emergency services were notified.
The fire was located inside a clothing store at the corner of 27 de Septiembre and José María Morelos. Firefighters did everything possible to combat the fire but were unable to save most of the store.
Neighbors reported seeing a thick column of smoke emanating from the building in the early hours of Wednesday. Within minutes, the flames intensified and spread throughout the interior of the store.
Firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to other businesses. No injuries were reported.
According to their preliminary investigation, the fire appears to have originated from an electrical fault. The exact cause of the early morning fire is still under investigation.
