Bimbo Indicted for Playa del Carmen Violence

Playa del Carmen, Mexico — The Quintana Roo State Attorney General's Office (FGE) has announced it secured a formal indictment for David Melchor "N", alias "Bimbo," an individual identified as a generator of violence in Playa del Carmen.

A control judge formally indicted him for his alleged participation in the crimes of aggravated attempted homicide and drug dealing.

"Bimbo" and His Alleged Connection to Violent Acts

According to the FGE, on September 22 of last year, a victim was traveling in a white Volkswagen Vento on the Playa del Carmen-Puerto Morelos highway when they were fired upon by occupants of a green Jetta, among them "Bimbo" and Brayan Rodrigo "N", alias "La Perra." The attack left one person injured and caused material damage.

Investigations indicate that both are part of a criminal group dedicated to drug dealing that operates in the area, and that the attack is related to a dispute over control of drug sales in the northern beaches of Quintana Roo.

The control judge issued a formal indictment against the two accused and imposed preventative prison for two years. Additionally, "Bimbo" faces a second indictment for possession of marijuana in Puerto Morelos, for which he will remain in preventative prison for an additional year or for the duration of the trial.

Woman Formally Charged with Homicide in Tulum

In a separate case, the FGE secured a third formal indictment in the municipality of Tulum against Mary Karla "N", accused of aggravated homicide. According to investigations, on September 29, the woman attacked a man who was sleeping on the public street with a bladed weapon, following an argument related to the theft of a cell phone and a pair of sneakers.

The judge imposed preventative prison for two years or for the duration of the judicial process.
