Authorities Seize Drugs and Surveillance Equipment in Quintana Roo Raids

Cancún, Quintana Roo — Authorities seized suspected drugs and surveillance equipment and arrested five people during simultaneous raids across three municipalities in Quintana Roo on Wednesday.

The State Prosecutor’s Office, coordinating with the Mexican Army, National Guard, and Public Security Department, executed three search warrants in Playa del Carmen, Othón P. Blanco, and Benito Juárez municipalities.

In Playa del Carmen, police raided a home on Ecuador Street in the El Petén neighborhood. They confiscated multiple doses of green and dry vegetation resembling marijuana, crystalline substances, and two motorcycles with altered serial numbers.

Near the raided property, officers caught four men and one woman red-handed with additional doses of marijuana and methamphetamines. The suspects were identified as Ari Uriel N, Brayan Abran N, Jorge Alejandro N, Nicolás Adriano N, and Yennyfer N.

In Chetumal, the state capital, authorities inspected a residence on Circuito Hidalgo Street in the Residencial Bosque Real neighborhood. Police seized prohibited substances, pink powder resembling methamphetamine, surveillance cameras, a DVR recording device, official identification cards, and passports.

In Benito Juárez municipality, which includes Cancún, the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Drug Trafficking raided a property in the Paraíso Maya neighborhood, Supermanzana 107, where they found packages containing suspected marijuana.

Authorities placed security seals on all three properties following the operations. The detained individuals and seized materials were turned over to the Prosecutor’s Office for legal proceedings.
