Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — A man has been preliminarily identified as a suspect in alleged attacks against women in Playa del Carmen. The individual, reportedly named Axel A, is said to work as a bar captain at a hotel in the Playacar area.
According to gathered accounts, the suspect allegedly attacked a woman in the Nueva Creación neighborhood over the weekend. Witnesses and social media posts describe the alleged aggressor as a man who travels by motorcycle and loiters in various parts of the city, including Ejido and Galaxias, which has caused concern among residents.
Municipal authorities reported that the victim is receiving institutional support to file a formal complaint with the State Attorney General’s Office.
Local authorities have issued a strong call for other potential victims to come forward and file reports, so that investigators have the necessary elements to begin inquiries and assign legal responsibilities.
