Tulum, Quintana Roo — A violent robbery occurred on the afternoon of Saturday, December 13 at the ICHT residential development, after three armed individuals entered the site with the intention of seizing the money from workers’ weekly payroll.
According to initial reports, the criminals did not locate the person in charge of safeguarding the payroll, so they opted to rob several workers who were at the site of their belongings.
During the robbery, one of the employees was physically assaulted after one of the subjects struck him with the butt of a firearm, causing injuries that required medical attention.
Following an emergency call to 911, Municipal Police officers deployed a search operation in the surrounding area, managing to capture two of the alleged perpetrators in a brush area near the subdivision.
Various stolen objects were recovered at the site, while the third suspect managed to flee. The injured worker was treated by paramedics and is reported to be out of danger.
The affected individuals went to the State Attorney General’s Office to file the corresponding complaints, while authorities maintain open investigations to locate the third participant in the robbery.
