Cancún, Mexico — A domestic argument ended in tragedy on Tuesday morning in the La Selva neighborhood, in Cancún's region 226, where a man was found dead, suspended from a rope, while a woman was seriously injured with wounds caused by a bladed weapon.

According to preliminary information, the events occurred around 6:40 in the morning at a residence on 90th Street and 107th Avenue. Neighbors in the area alerted the 911 emergency number after hearing cries for help coming from inside the home.

Municipal Police officers arrived at the location and found the injured woman, who had wounds on her neck and other parts of her body. Minutes later, Red Cross paramedics provided her with first aid and urgently transported her to a hospital, where she remains under specialized medical care.

Inside the home, officers found the man's lifeless body. It is alleged that, after assaulting his partner, he took his own life by hanging himself with a rope. The area was cordoned off by preventive authorities, while the Quintana Roo State Attorney General's Office (FGE) was notified to begin the corresponding proceedings.

Forensic experts from the Ministerial Police and the Forensic Services conducted the body removal and secured possible evidence related to the case, as investigations continue to clarify the causes of the attack and confirm the sequence of events.

The identities of both individuals are being withheld; however, it is not ruled out that the woman may have been living in a context of domestic violence, which could have led to this tragedy.
