Cancún, Mexico — The Attorney General's Office of Quintana Roo has activated an alert in Cancún and Playa del Carmen after receiving reports concerning the disappearance of two 14-year-old girls. The adolescents were last seen on different dates in the municipalities of Benito Juárez and Solidaridad. Authorities have requested public assistance in locating them and urged citizens to report any information that could help find their whereabouts.
Urgent Search Underway in Cancún and Playa del Carmen
The first case involves Katherine Rueda de León Ruiz, who disappeared on November 6 in Cancún. A report was filed on November 18. She has a light complexion, a slim build, long black hair, dark brown eyes, and is approximately 1.60 meters tall. Distinguishing features include piercings in her nose and navel, a mole on her neck, and scars on her abdomen, arm, and calf. The FGE asks anyone with information to contact 998 881 7150 extension 2130.
The second case concerns Maryi Yareth Cruz Córdova, who was last seen on November 18 in Playa del Carmen and reported missing one day later. She has a light brown complexion, a slim build, straight dark hair cut above her shoulders, brown eyes, and is approximately 1.55 meters tall. Information can be reported to 984 873 0163.
FGE Maintains Active Protocols and Requests Citizen Support
Authorities have activated the Amber Alert and Alba Protocol. They reiterated the importance of public participation in cases of missing minors, especially in tourist areas where an early response is crucial.
