Evidence of pollution from Albatros Catamarans has been discovered in the Chacmuchuch Lagoon in Cancún. Environmental activists have raised concerns after finding life jackets and snorkeling equipment, clearly marked with the company's logo, discarded in the lagoon.
Bernardo Hautenne, a well-known environmental activist, has been leading the charge in highlighting this pollution issue. Hautenne has been instrumental in protecting the region's ecosystems and recently released a documentary titled "Chacmuchuch, A Quiet Ecocide". The film exposes the environmental challenges faced by the lagoon.
Hautenne expressed his frustration on social media, noting that he has been trying to contact Albatros Catamarans since July 31. Despite his efforts, he has received no response or explanation regarding the significant amount of their waste found in this Natural Protected Area (NPA).
He has made a desperate plea to both the authorities and the public to help prevent these natural areas from turning into waste dumps.
