The Quintana Roo State Mobility Institute (Imoveqroo) has confirmed that there will be no increase in public transport fares. Rodrigo Alcázar Urrutia, the General Director of Imoveqroo, stated that no fare increases have been approved for any mode of transport or any service provider. Consequently, any fare increase would be against the law.
Imoveqroo is committed to ensuring that fares remain within the limits established by the current fare schedule. Measures are being taken to ensure that service providers do not charge more than the authorized amount.
In Playa del Carmen, illegal fare schedules have been removed. Commuters are encouraged to report any instances of improper practices. Service providers who charge unauthorized rates will face penalties.
Although Imoveqroo is considering the possibility of a fare increase, no decisions have been made yet. Service providers are expected to present analyses to justify their requests for fare increases.
Imoveqroo emphasizes the importance of maintaining open communication and reporting any instances of abuse in public transport. This is crucial for safeguarding the rights of citizens to mobility.
