Free HIV Vaccine in Quintana Roo Starts This Week

QUINTANA ROO, Mexico — The 2025 Vaccination Campaign in Quintana Roo is set to begin this week, offering protection against viruses and diseases at no cost to eligible residents. The state government announced the initiative through its social media channels.

The campaign is scheduled to commence on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. The vaccine to be administered protects against the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). The government has stated that the vaccine is safe and will be provided free of charge to individuals who meet the specified requirements and attend the designated vaccination zones.

Eligibility for the 2025 Vaccination Campaign

The vaccination drive is targeted at specific groups within the population. The individuals who will have the opportunity to be vaccinated are:

  • Girls and adolescents between the ages of 9 and 19 who are under a care protocol following sexual assault (single dose).
  • Cisgender and transgender people between the ages of 11 and 49 who are living with HIV* (a three-dose scheme).
