Cancún, Mexico — The municipal government of Benito Juárez has announced a full schedule of free public activities for September 15 and 16, 2025, to celebrate Mexico's Independence. The festivities will include a traditional Civic-Military Parade and a free concert by Gloria Trevi, open to citizens of all ages.
Schedule of Patriotic Events
The celebrations will commence on the evening of September 15 with the traditional "Grito de Independencia" ceremony, led by Municipal President Ana Paty Peralta. The following morning, September 16, will feature a series of family-oriented programs and the main parade.
The Civic-Military Parade is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. on September 16. It will commence at the intersection of Avenida Cobá and Avenida Tulum. The parade is planned to pass the main grandstand on Avenida Tulum, located in front of the Cancún City Hall, at 8:00 p.m., where municipal authorities will be stationed. The event marks the 215th Anniversary of the beginning of Mexico's War of Independence, initiated by priest Miguel Hidalgo.
Gloria Trevi to Perform Free Concert
A highlight of the September 15 festivities will be a live, free concert by the artist Gloria Trevi, also known as "La Madonna de México." The performance is scheduled to take place at Playa de la Reforma, immediately following the "Grito de Independencia" ceremony, which occurs at 11:00 p.m. nationwide.
The Cancún City Council stated that beyond the concert, the holiday schedule includes various social, cultural, and sporting activities designed to encourage families from Quintana Roo to enjoy an extended period of celebration throughout the patriotic month.
