PLAYA DEL CARMEN, Mexico — Municipal President Estefanía Mercado has invited the public to celebrate the traditional Cry of Independence in Playa del Carmen, an event that solidifies the city as the epicenter of the best events in Quintana Roo. On September 15, the Mario Villanueva Madrid stadium will host an unforgettable Mexican night featuring a headlining performance by the international group Grupo Frontera.
The stadium gates will open at 8:00 p.m. through the entrances on 20th Street. The evening will commence at 9:30 p.m. with an opening show, followed by a civic protocol led by the municipal president, who will be accompanied by civil authorities and representatives from military institutions.
The program includes a reading of the “Sentimientos de la Nación” (Sentiments of the Nation), Honors to the Flag performed by the 64th Infantry Battalion, and at precisely 11:00 p.m., the traditional ringing of the bells and the chanting of the cheers to the Homeland. This will be followed by the singing of the Hymn of the State of Quintana Roo and the Glorious Mexican National Anthem.
Subsequently, citizens will be able to enjoy a spectacular drone show and, as a golden finale, a concert by the renowned international group Grupo Frontera, which will ignite joy and Mexican pride at this great national holiday celebration.
With an atmosphere full of music, color, and patriotism, the Playa del Carmen municipal government invites citizens and visitors to enjoy together a night of celebration that pays homage to the nation’s history, culture, and national identity.
