Tulum Raid Seizes 32 Drug Packets

Tulum, Mexico — The Quintana Roo State Attorney General's Office reported that, in compliance with an order issued by a Control Judge from the Tulum Judicial District, a raid was carried out on a property, leading to the seizure of various illicit substances.

During the operation, ministerial and security personnel located and secured a total of 31 packets containing drugs, distributed as follows:

  • 12 packages containing the drug known as crystal.
  • 10 packages containing the drug known as rock.
  • 9 packages containing the drug known as marijuana.

The narcotics were packaged and transported to the corresponding Attorney General's Office as part of the ongoing investigation file.

The procedure was conducted in coordination with the Tulum Secretariat of Public Security and Citizen Protection, the State Secretariat of Citizen Security, and the National Guard, as part of the joint actions within the framework of the strategy to combat retail drug dealing in the region.

Combating Retail Drug Dealing Intensifies

Authorities emphasized that this operation reflects the commitment of all three levels of government to guarantee a safer environment for the population. They further underscored that these actions will be maintained consistently in the municipality of Tulum, with the objective of halting the distribution and consumption of drugs that endanger the safety of families.

The raided property was placed under the guardianship of the authorities while the possible responsibility of individuals related to the events is determined.

The State Attorney General's Office reiterated that it will continue to reinforce operational presence in strategic zones to combat the crime of retail drug dealing.
