Chetumal, Quintana Roo — The National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (Canirac) for the southern zone of the state has announced the launch of Gastrofest, a gastronomic event designed to incentivize local consumption and strengthen the economy for business owners in the sector.
Esteban Mera Villanueva, president of the Chamber, stated that during this activity, special promotions and dynamics will be offered to attract more diners. The initiative also aims to establish the southern part of the state as a reference point for food preparation, not only within the restaurant sector but also for banquets and special events.
Mera Villanueva revealed that Gastrofest will take place from November 10 to November 16. During this period, citizens and visitors will be able to take advantage of the promotions launched as part of this strategy to disseminate the local offering. The event is also expected to serve as a tool for the tourist promotion of the southern state zone.
He detailed that the festival will see participation from all affiliated chamber businesses that are interested. These establishments will offer a variety of dishes and culinary experiences designed to promote the region's gastronomic talent.
Mera Villanueva emphasized that the primary objective is to motivate the population to choose local gastronomy over other options. Additional goals include strengthening the unity among business owners in the field and consolidating Chetumal's status as a reference point in the restaurant sector.
He indicated that the corresponding call for participants is currently being prepared and will be launched shortly. This will allow restaurateurs to prepare, offer their best dishes, and ensure they have the operational capacity to provide a banquet service.
