CANCÚN, MX — A 23-year-old man lost his life this Wednesday at the General Hospital "Jesús Kumate" after being involved in a violent altercation between neighbors that occurred in the Tres Reyes neighborhood of this city.
The victim was identified as Andrés H.E., who was admitted to the hospital in critical condition after receiving a severe beating administered by three men and a woman, with whom he had constant conflicts, according to testimonies gathered in the area.
The incident was recorded on Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of 6 de Enero and Víctor Ayala streets.
Neighbors indicated that one of the aggressors immobilized the young man with a rope while the others attacked him with stones and sticks.
Given the gravity of the situation, residents called the 911 emergency number, prompting paramedics to arrive and transport the victim to the hospital.
Despite medical attention, Andrés suffered cardiac arrest as a consequence of his injuries and died this Wednesday at the medical facility. The death was confirmed by health personnel.
Agents from the State Attorney General's Office (Fiscalía General del Estado) went to the scene of the assault to gather evidence and open an investigation file.
Forensic experts confirmed multiple blows and restraint marks on the young man's body.
The victim's brother stated to authorities that Andrés had had previous confrontations with his aggressors, who have already been identified, though they remain at large at this time.
