Tulum, Mexico — A motorcyclist lost his life and his passenger sustained serious injuries in a traffic accident in Tulum. The incident occurred on Federal Highway 307, where a report was made through the 911 emergency lines by motorists passing through the area, who requested medical units and the presence of the National Guard.
Paramedics from Tulum Hospital arrived at the scene immediately to provide first aid to Octavio “N”, 19, an originial resident of Chiapas. He was found to have a cranioencephalic fracture and was transported to the same hospital for stabilization. He was later pronounced dead.
Personnel from Civil Protection were tasked with assessing another injured individual, who was then handed over to paramedics from the company Costamed. They were responsible for transferring this individual to the General Hospital in Playa del Carmen.
Initial reports indicate that the alleged responsible party was the driver of a white Toyota Prius with license plate URJ-327-M. The vehicle was traveling from south to north, towards Tulum, but upon reaching the area near the Villas Sanah hotel, the driver turned sharply to the extreme left, invading the lane and cutting off the motorcycle.
