Cancún, Q. Roo — Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa has presented the Quintana Roo Real Estate System (SIQROO), a digital platform that modernizes the Public Registry of Property and Commerce. The objective is to guarantee legal certainty for citizens, provide security for investors, and streamline the management of procedures.
The new system centralizes more than one million real estate properties in a single database and migrates the history of more than three million records. It incorporates technological tools such as advanced electronic signatures, digital seals, and QR codes to ensure the authenticity of documents.
Three Portals for Different Sectors
The SIQROO will be available through three web portals:
- A Citizen Portal, for online consultations and tracking of procedures.
- A Notaries Portal, which will reduce time and operational costs in the management of deeds.
- An Authorities Portal, which will allow for the secure exchange of information between government departments.
The director of the Public Registry, Mariann González Pliego Castillo, emphasized that with this innovation, services can be carried out from anywhere in the country, eliminating in-person procedures and "unnecessary steps."
Transparency and Combating Corruption
Mara Lezama stated that after more than two decades of lagging behind, Quintana Roo is abandoning an insufficient registry model to make way for a "modern, agile, and accessible" platform.
"With this tool, we eliminate cumbersome procedures, reduce waiting times, and provide peace of mind to those who buy their first home or decide to invest in our state," she specified.
The governor highlighted that the system connects with the SATQ (Quintana Roo Tax Administration Service), the National Population Registry (RENAPO), and the National Metrology Center (CENAM), which speeds up data validation and strengthens legal certainty.
Recognitions and Citizen Support
Civil society organizations and notaries recognized the scope of the new system. Cynthia Dehesa Guzmán, director of Citizens for Transparency, highlighted the effort to modernize and digitize services.
For his part, Elmer Arturo Paredes Quintana, president of the Council of Notaries, underlined that SIQROO marks a "before and after" by eliminating intermediaries, reducing costs, and preventing fraud.
The event was attended by federal and state authorities, including Griselda Martínez Vázquez, Undersecretary of SEDATU (Ministry of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development); José Alfonso Iracheta Carroll, director of INSUS (National Institute of Social Economy); magistrates, legislators, notaries, and representatives of civil society.
A Step Towards Social Justice
The governor emphasized that this modernization is part of the New Agreement for the Well-being and Development of Quintana Roo, through which her administration seeks to reduce inequality gaps and guarantee social justice through a more efficient and transparent government model.
