Cancún, Mexico — Armed assailants robbed the jewelry store "Ciala" located in the Unidad Morelos neighborhood, part of Supermanzana 59 in Cancún, on Tuesday afternoon. Unofficial reports indicate the robbery occurred around 6 p.m. on Xuencal Avenue.

Employees Left in Shock

Police officers arriving at the scene found most of the store’s employees suffering from nervous breakdowns. Witnesses reported that the suspects arrived on a motorcycle and threatened staff with firearms, forcibly taking their personal belongings before smashing display cases to steal jewelry.

Escape and Ongoing Manhunt

After committing the robbery, the suspects fled on their motorcycle in an unknown direction. Authorities launched a search operation, but no arrests have been made as of yet. Investigators from the State Attorney General’s Office are reviewing surveillance footage from the area in an effort to identify and locate the perpetrators.

The incident follows a recent robbery at Cancún’s Gran Plaza, which also caused widespread panic. Authorities have yet to confirm whether the two cases are connected.

Police presence has been increased in the area as the investigation continues.
