Cancún, Quintana Roo — A shooting occurred late Tuesday night at a barbershop in Cancún’s Supermanzana 217, La Guadalupana neighborhood, leaving a barber and a customer wounded. The victims were transported to a nearby hospital in a taxi operated by the Andrés Quintana Roo union after emergency medical services failed to arrive promptly.

Details of the Attack

According to witness testimonies, two individuals on a motorcycle arrived at the barbershop located on Calle 74, approximately two blocks from Avenida Niños Héroes, around 9:00 p.m. and opened fire. One victim sustained a gunshot wound to the arm, while the other was struck in the abdomen. Neighbors dialed 911 for an ambulance, but before emergency responders arrived, bystanders placed the injured men in a taxi and rushed them to the hospital.

Municipal police cordoned off the area, while investigative agents gathered statements from witnesses to determine the circumstances surrounding the attempted double homicide. Forensic experts recovered at least 10 spent shell casings from the scene, which were marked and secured as evidence.
