Cozumel, Mexico — A crocodile in distress, located near the Punta Morena beach club, was rescued by personnel from the Subdirectorate of Ecology of the Cozumel City Council. Reports indicate that visitors to the beach club alerted authorities to the presence of the reptile, which measured approximately three meters in length and weighed an estimated 110 kilograms.

Upon arriving at the tourist area of the island, ecology officials quickly located the crocodile and initiated the appropriate protocol to ensure its safety. In coordination with the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (Profepa), the team proceeded to relocate the animal to a secure area within the Punta Sur zone.

In a statement issued later in the day, the municipal agency confirmed that the crocodile was released in an area with suitable conditions for its preservation. The statement also urged the public to report any similar sightings through official channels.
