Quintana Roo, Mexico — The Attorney General’s Office of Quintana Roo (FGE) has raised the reward for information leading to the capture of Maurizio Spinosi Hellies, an Italian national accused of sexually abusing his five-year-old daughter in August 2023. The reward has been increased from 300,000 to 750,000 pesos, according to an official statement from the agency.
Fugitive Wanted Since May 2024
Spinosi Hellies has been a fugitive since May 10, 2024, when an arrest warrant was issued against him for the alleged crime of child sexual abuse. The FGE emphasized that the case remains a priority due to the severity of the allegations and the need to ensure the accused faces justice.
On June 4, 2024, authorities released a wanted poster seeking public assistance in locating the fugitive. His photograph and personal details were disseminated through official channels and the FGE’s social media platforms to broaden the search efforts.
Confidentiality and Public Appeal
State officials assured that all tips will be handled confidentially and reiterated their commitment to securing justice for the victim. They urged anyone with information about Spinosi Hellies’ whereabouts to contact the anonymous hotline 089 or the FGE’s direct line at 998 221 7474.
The increased reward reflects both the challenges in locating the suspect and the government’s determination to prevent impunity in the case.
