In the quiet of Friday night, a fire erupted in Playa del Carmen, consuming a palapa at the Secretary of Economic Development and Investment Attention's facilities. The building is located at the bustling intersection of Avenue 20 and First South, in the heart of the Centro neighborhood.
The fire is suspected to have been caused by an electrical short-circuit. The sight of the fire consuming the palm structure alarmed nearby residents, creating a mesmerizing yet threatening scene in the Caribbean night.
