Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa announced the opening of the newly renovated General Prosecutor's Office building in Cancún. The governor expressed that the modernized facilities, equipped with advanced technology, represent a significant step towards establishing a rule of law and ensuring peace and tranquility.

The building, known as “La Ceiba,” was previously abandoned and left unfinished despite promises to convert it into a government office. Resources that were supposed to be invested in the project were wasted. However, the governor assured that the building has now been successfully completed.

During the inauguration, Governor Lezama explained that nearly 60 million pesos were invested in the refurbishment of the 4,800 square meter building. This was made possible due to efforts against corruption and the honest management of the people's resources. An additional 47 million pesos were spent on furnishing the building and installing state-of-the-art technology, bringing the total investment to 107 million pesos.

The governor emphasized that this investment in a strategic security project is what the people of Benito Juárez and Quintana Roo deserve for proper administration of justice.

Attorney General Raciel López Salazar added that the completion of the building is just the beginning of a journey towards transforming the Prosecutor’s Office into an institution that genuinely serves the people and administers the justice they desire.

Salazar also highlighted the achievements of the Prosecutor's Office, which has significantly impacted criminal organizations, resulting in the arrest of more than 2,000 criminals for high impact crimes. He affirmed that 94% of these criminals were linked to the process and declared, "The revolving door is over."
