11 Charged in Quintana Roo Domestic Violence Cases

Quintana Roo — The State Attorney General’s Office reported that, as part of actions to curb domestic violence in Quintana Roo, 11 men were linked to process after evidence was presented in separate hearings before control judges.

Domestic Violence Cases Registered in Cancún

In Benito Juárez, Carlos Leonel “N” was charged with domestic violence against his romantic partner, after physically and verbally assaulting her inside a residence in Puerto Aventuras.

According to the investigation, he also used a machete-type bladed weapon to injure her in the arm and buttocks. The judge determined justified preventive detention.

In the same municipality, Osvaldo “N”, Juan Carlos “N”, and Juan Francisco “N” were also linked to process for acts related to domestic violence.

• Osvaldo “N” carried out acts of harassment and stalking against his ex-partner at her workplace.
• Juan Carlos “N” and Juan Francisco “N” physically assaulted their respective victims.

Processes Linked in Playa del Carmen and Chetumal

In Playa del Carmen, Orlando “N” and Hugo Armando “N” received orders of linkage to process for physically and verbally assaulting their partners. Both detainees were placed under justified preventive detention while the investigation advances.

Likewise, in Othón P. Blanco, Rogelio “N” and Darwin Omar “N” were charged.

• Rogelio “N” is accused of threatening the victim with a firearm in the community of San Román.
• Darwin Omar “N” allegedly threatened to take her life and also bit her on the left cheek.

Both were ordered justified preventive detention.

José María Morelos and Felipe Carrillo Puerto

In José María Morelos, Ángel Alberto “N” was linked to process for physically attacking his sister and threatening her with a machete, which resulted in strict precautionary measures.

Finally, in Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Óscar Omar “N” and Hoñiel “N” were judicially processed for physically and verbally assaulting their romantic partners.
