Mexico City — Yucatán Cultural Week will return to Mexico City this May, following the success of last year’s event that drew over 170 exhibitors from the region. The state government expects this year’s edition to replicate the 2025 turnout, featuring artisans, artists, traditional cooks, and entrepreneurs showcasing their creations to captivate capital residents.
The state government opened applications for participation on March 10, with the deadline closing on March 20.
Dates and Venue
As with last year, the Palacio de los Deportes in Iztacalco will transform into an extension of Yucatán from May 8 to 17. The event will run daily from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., allowing Mexico City residents to experience the cultural showcase.
Free Admission
Admission to the venue will be completely free, though products sold inside will have varying prices.
Event Highlights
Food enthusiasts can sample traditional Yucatecan dishes including cochinita pibil, roasted pork, and lime soup from various restaurants and stalls.
For those interested in crafts and textiles, the event offers guayaberas, traditional clothing, shoes, henequen crafts, hammocks, honey, and agricultural products.
Cultural presentations will feature Yucatecan jarana music, vaquerías folk dances, regional music, theater performances, and artist showcases.
