Mérida, Yucatán — The State Government announced the arrival of private investments totaling 3,055 million pesos to Yucatán.
The resources will translate into jobs, greater economic dynamism, and new opportunities for thousands of Yucatecan families.
In this regard, Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena specified that these are 11 investment and reinvestment projects in strategic sectors such as industry, logistics, health, education, commerce, and food. They will be developed in the municipalities of Mérida, Umán, Hunucmá, Progreso, and Kanasín. Together, they will allow for the generation of more than 2,100 direct and indirect jobs.
Before representatives from the companies Endémico —an industrial and logistics park developed by Simca—, the Amazon project developed by Frontier Industries, as well as Iassa, Unitec, Aproil, TGI Fridays México, Remix, Kinam, Grupo Lamosa, La Anita, and Jugos Noble, the Governor acknowledged the confidence of those who decide to invest in the state.
“We celebrate that today we can announce these investments for Yucatán: three thousand 55 million pesos that translate into employment, economic movement, and, above all, an invitation to more national and international businesswomen and businessmen to look towards the state,” he stated.
The governor highlighted the work of the state team promoting economic and sustainable development, indicating that Yucatán offers legal certainty, administrative facilities, and a Government that accompanies the investor to finalize projects in the shortest possible time.
For his part, the head of the Secretariat of Economy and Labor (SETY), Ermilo Barrera Novelo, acknowledged the collaborative work with the business sector and maintained that each project is a priority and should have the full accompaniment of the State Government.
Representing the business sector, the regional coordinator of the Investment Promotion and Business Strengthening Committee, Alejandro Guerrero Lozano, stated that investments exceeding three billion pesos represent well-being for Yucatán, by generating more than two thousand jobs and a significant economic spillover.
He added that strategic projects such as the expansion of the Deep-Water Port, the Maya cargo train, and new wind energy parks strengthen the state’s competitiveness.
