Mexico City — YouTube has reached more than 75 million users over the age of 18 in Mexico, the company said at Brandcast 2026, its annual event for creators, advertisers and commercial partners.
The platform touted its position in Mexico’s streaming market, saying it ranks first in watch time among the services measured in Mexican cities, ahead of Netflix, Prime Video, ViX, Disney+ and HBO Max.
YouTube also pointed to a shift in viewing habits: 57% of those surveyed said they stream more content from the platform on a television than they did a year earlier, a figure the company said reflects the growing role of connected screens in video consumption.
On trust, the company said 88% of surveyed viewers in Mexico consider YouTube the video platform they rely on most, compared with a competitive average of 63% for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and X.
Commerce and AI Push
On the commercial side, YouTube highlighted the launch of YouTube Shopping in Mexico in partnership with Mercado Libre, a tool designed to connect brands, creators and consumers more directly.
The company said artificial intelligence, including tools powered by Gemini, is part of its effort to expand what creators can produce.
New Shows and Events
During Brandcast 2026, YouTube announced new entertainment projects for 2026 and 2027, including Ring Royale 2, backed by Poncho de Nigris; Top Challenge, from Los Polinesios; and the reality show EX!T: La salida tiene un ganador, hosted by Fer Jalil.
The company also cited content tied to major sporting and entertainment events, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the NFL and Coachella.
YouTube said the reach, consumption and trust figures were gathered from measurements and surveys cited by the company itself.
