Women’s Open Water Swim Event Draws 150 Competitors to Mexican Caribbean

Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo — More than 150 swimmers from 12 countries gathered in the Mexican Caribbean for the “El Cruce de Mujeres” open water swimming competition, a 10-kilometer race from Cancún to Isla Mujeres held to mark International Women’s Day.

The event began at Playa Caracol in Cancún and finished at Club Albatros on Isla Mujeres, testing participants’ physical endurance while highlighting women’s discipline and determination in sports.

Organizers presented awards to top performers, recognizing the event’s role in establishing the Mexican Caribbean as an international destination for open water swimming.
