Tulum, Quintana Roo — A woman was injured after being involved in a traffic incident while traveling at the intersection of La Selva Avenue and Golondrinas Street in the Ejido de Tulum neighborhood.
The victim is Mari ‘N’, 34 years old, originally from the state of Yucatán, who was traveling as a passenger on a motorcycle. She was injured in the crash and later treated by paramedics.
According to gathered information, the accident occurred when a black Volkswagen Taos pickup truck invaded the opposite lane and collided with an Italika motorcycle, causing the driver of the two-wheeled vehicle to lose control and both occupants to fall onto the asphalt surface.
As a consequence of the impact, the passenger was thrown several meters forward and was the most affected.
Onlookers said they heard a loud crash and observed how the motorcycle was hit by the pickup truck. Meanwhile, traffic officers carried out the corresponding procedures, interviewed the involved parties, and proceeded according to legal protocol.
Due to the injuries caused and the circumstances of the incident, the case was referred to the ministerial authority to determine responsibility.
