Estefanía Mercado, the Municipal President of Solidaridad, recently convened a meeting with Justen Thomas, the General Consul and Principal Officer of the United States in Mérida, Yucatán. Mercado emphasized the significance of this meeting with the American diplomat. She highlighted the strategies currently being implemented in local administration, particularly in areas such as visitor services, security, and economic development of the municipality.
During the meeting, discussions were held about the municipal government's plans to encourage the sale of local products in the United States. They also touched on the potential for fostering sister city relationships with American cities. These partnerships would serve to enhance cultural exchange, tourism, and economic growth.
