Viva Aerobús to Restart Cancún-Acapulco Flight with Stop at AIFA Airport in April

Cancún, Mexico — Viva Aerobús announced it will restart its Cancún-Acapulco flight with a stop at the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) beginning in April. The route will operate on Thursdays and Sundays, enhancing connectivity between the two tourist destinations and serving the large Guerrero community in the Mexican Caribbean.

Rubén Pérez Pérez, the airline’s route planning director, said the company is excited to return to Acapulco as part of its expansion plans. “We are fully committed to this new route and ready to sustain it over time,” Pérez stated. “The flight will start in April on Thursdays and Sundays with a stop at AIFA; we are very enthusiastic about returning to Acapulco.”

Acapulco’s tourism secretary, Noé Peralta Herrera, noted that the reactivation of this flight after many years will boost connectivity between Acapulco and Cancún. Beyond tourism benefits, it will provide a link for Guerrero natives living in the Mexican Caribbean to visit family.

According to data from INEGI (the national statistics agency), the Guerrero community is the second-largest in Quintana Roo, with over 200,000 people from that southern state residing and contributing to the region’s development.
