Family Machete Brawl Erupts in Puerto Aventuras

Playa del Carmen — The calm of the Puerto Maya subdivision was shattered when eight members of a family engaged in a violent fight using machetes, sticks, and other blunt objects. The confrontation occurred at block 5, lot 5, and caused alarm among neighbors, who recorded the event and disseminated it on social media.

According to witnesses, the brawl broke out following a social gathering where there was alleged alcohol consumption. What began as a family argument rapidly escalated into a physical confrontation, while some residents attempted to intervene without success and others called for help from the authorities.

Municipal Public Security officers arrived at the location after receiving several emergency reports; however, by the time they arrived, the situation had already been controlled by those involved. No arrests or serious injuries were reported, although the incident caused significant concern among the residents of the subdivision.

This episode has revived neighborhood concerns about the lack of surveillance in Puerto Aventuras. On social media, citizens have demanded that authorities reinforce police presence and improve security protocols to prevent new outbreaks of violence within residential areas.
