TULUM — A new episode of violence was registered in this municipality after a man was found deceased in the vicinity of Aldea Zama. The body showed signs of violence and blood stains, according to the official report.

The discovery was notified to the 911 emergency number, which led to the immediate arrival of elements from the Municipal Preventive Police. After reviewing the location, the agents requested medical support. Paramedics from Hospital Tulum responded to the site, although they could only confirm the absence of vital signs.

Immediately, the officers secured the area and notified the State Attorney General's Office. Investigators and forensic experts began the collection of evidence and gathering of clues, while the body was sent to the Medical Forensic Service for the corresponding autopsy. This will determine the precise cause of death.

The identity of the victim remains unconfirmed, leaving open the possibility that it could be either a local resident or a visitor. The location of the incident, within an area that combines real estate development and tourist traffic, reflects the vulnerability of spaces that have become an economic engine for the municipality.

The Attorney General's Office reported that the investigation file contemplates different lines of inquiry, though no further details were offered so as not to hinder the process. They also requested citizen collaboration to obtain information that could assist with the case.

This event adds to a series of violent episodes that have occurred in Tulum throughout the year, increasing pressure on public security authorities. The recurrence of incidents of this nature keeps the population and sectors linked to tourism on alert, as they observe with concern the impact of violence on one of the most visited destinations in the Mexican Caribbean.
