Valladolid’s Wine and Ceiba Festival Highlights Maya Gastronomy

Valladolid, Yucatán, October 2025. In the heart of eastern Yucatán, nature, wine, and culture come together to bring life to the most anticipated enogastronomic event of the year: “La Vid y la Ceiba – Vendimia Maya 2025,” which will be held on November 28 and 29 in Valladolid, Yucatán.

This gathering will bring together 15 Mexican wineries, 15 local restaurants, traditional cooks, sommeliers, artists, and artisanal producers in a tribute to the cultural, natural, and gastronomic richness of Mexico.

The event has the support of the Valladolid City Council, SEFOTUR Yucatán, SECTURI Guanajuato, Grupo Mesones, ARVAY, the Valladolid Restaurant Association, and the Valladolid Hotel Association, establishing itself as a national benchmark for cultural and gastronomic tourism.

Friday, November 28 – Valladolid Toasts to Mexican Wine

Starting at 2:00 p.m., 15 Valladolid restaurants will offer special menus paired with national labels, showing how endemic Yucatecan cuisine and contemporary fusion cuisine harmonize with the best wines in the country.

The guest state, Guanajuato, will participate with wineries such as Viñedo San Miguel, Tres Raíces, Vinos Guanamé, Tierra de Luz, Los Arcángeles, Vila Gamar, and Viñedo Dos Búhos.

Also joining is the Camino de Plata, with the houses Vinícola Santa Elena, Pozo de Luna, Vinos Tierra Adentro, and Parcela, in addition to Vinícola Renacimiento from Aguascalientes. From Valle de Guadalupe, Baja California, come Barón Balch’é, El Cielo, and Vinos Maxia.

Saturday, November 29 – The Maya Vendimia in Selva Maya

The majestic Selva Maya ecopark will be the setting for a sensory day with wine tastings, traditional grape stomping, a tour of the melipona bee, an ancestral gastronomic showcase, sale of local crafts, and a musical program with regional rhythms.

The event will conclude at 10:00 p.m., celebrating the spirit of the vendimia and the union between the vine and the ceiba, symbols of life, roots, and rebirth.

Yucatán: Ibero-American Capital of Gastronomic Culture

La Vid y la Ceiba – Vendimia Maya is part of the celebration of Yucatán’s designation as Ibero-American Capital of Gastronomic Culture, paying tribute to its millennial cuisine, its endemic ingredients, and its fusion with new culinary trends.
