Two Young Men Reported Kidnapped in Chetumal Found Alive; Search Continues for Third

Chetumal, Quintana Roo — Two of three young men reported kidnapped in Chetumal have been found alive, authorities said. A search is ongoing for the third man.

Security forces found Luis Manuel Cervantes Cámara and Jonathan Farid Manzanilla Aguilar after carrying out ground patrols and search operations across the state capital. Both were placed under the protection of authorities to receive any necessary care.

The case began early Saturday when the three men — ages 20, 21 and 23 — left the Carpe Diem nightclub and got into a black compact car. While driving along Boulevard Bahía near the Faro, they were allegedly intercepted by unknown individuals and taken against their will.

After the disappearance was reported, state and federal authorities deployed a large-scale search operation that led to two of the men being located. Officials did not specify the circumstances or the location where they were found.

Everardo Enrique Hernández Manzanilla, the third man, remains missing.

The State Prosecutor’s Office and security agencies that make up the Peace Cabinet are continuing search efforts and investigating those who may be linked to the case.
