Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Quintana Roo — A motorcyclist died Sunday after a crash on Federal Highway 307, authorities said.
Two people on a motorcycle left the roadway at kilometer 126 of the Reforma Agraria–Puerto Juárez highway, on the Felipe Carrillo Puerto–Uh May stretch. Both were seriously injured.
Bystanders stopped to help and called Red Cross paramedics. The National Guard’s highway division was also alerted to handle the investigation.
One of the injured had lost an eye and was believed to have a skull fracture. Paramedics treated him at the scene and rushed him to the general hospital in Felipe Carrillo Puerto. The second rider was also taken to the hospital.
The first victim later died from his injuries. Officials from the State Prosecutor’s Office arrived to carry out the investigation, and the body was transferred to the forensic medical service.
