Cancun, Quintana Roo — Police arrested two men Friday morning for allegedly sexually harassing a young woman while she was exercising at a sports dome in the Supermanzana 77 neighborhood, in the Gastronomicos housing complex.

According to witnesses, the woman was working out when two men in a white car approached her and began making obscene comments and persistently trying to get her attention, causing discomfort and concern.

The woman sought help from other women at the dome, but the suspects continued following her and trying to get closer, alarming those present. Neighbors intervened to protect the woman inside the sports facility and called 911.

Municipal police arrived minutes later and spoke with the victim and witnesses, who directly identified the suspects. When the men noticed the police, they tried to leave, but officers blocked their escape.

The suspects denied the accusations, but multiple witnesses supported the victim’s account and offered to testify before prosecutors. Police arrested both men on suspicion of sexual harassment.

They were taken to the municipal police station for medical checks and paperwork before being turned over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
