Cancún — Two individuals identified as Delvy Cristel “N” and José Miguel “N” were detained by officers from the Secretary of Citizen Security, accused of the crime of Disobedience and Resistance of Private Citizens.
The incident was recorded on the heavily trafficked Tulum-Cancún highway, near the Hilton Cancún hotel in supermanzana 36. Officers initially noticed a man and a woman on the side of the avenue who were insulting passing motorists and, more dangerously, throwing plastic bottles at vehicles in circulation.
As the officers approached to intervene in this situation of risk and public disturbance, the individuals reacted with a markedly aggressive attitude, directing their insults and threats directly at the uniformed officers. They then attempted to physically assault the officers with blows, which prompted their immediate detention.
They were placed at the disposal of the State Attorney General's Office, where their legal situation regarding the charges brought against them will be determined.
