Tulum, Mexico — Two foreigners were violently robbed in Tulum, with the assailants making off with a Rolex watch and other valuable items. The armed assault took place in the exclusive Aldea Zama area, where the victims were intercepted by alleged Colombian perpetrators.
According to official information, the incident occurred when the victims were leaving an establishment located on Andador Kambul and Weech Street. At that moment, two individuals on a motorcycle pulled up alongside them; one of them dismounted from the vehicle and, pointing a firearm at them, threatened them to strip them of their valuable belongings.
They Took Their Rolex and Other High-Value Belongings
During the robbery, the criminals managed to seize a Rolex watch, gold jewelry and items, as well as a wallet, a cell phone, and cash. After completing the robbery, the aggressors fled toward Itzamná Avenue, taking advantage of the darkness and the speed of the motorcycle.
The incident was immediately reported to the Tulum C2 emergency center, from where Municipal Police intervention was requested. Security elements quickly arrived at the scene and interviewed the affected individuals to gather details of the assault.
Although a strong security operation was deployed in the area and surrounding roadways, the alleged perpetrators managed to escape. Preliminary information indicated that the suspects could be of Colombian origin, although this information has not yet been officially confirmed.
The authorities continue with the investigations to locate the whereabouts of those responsible.
