Cancún, Quintana Roo — An operational deployment in the irregular settlement of El Esfuerzo, located in Supermanzana 243 of Cancún, led to the discovery of two deceased individuals inside a home on Tuesday afternoon.

According to preliminary information, authorities responded following an armed attack registered in the area. During protocol procedures, at approximately 7:00 p.m., a decision was made to enter a house from where the victims had allegedly fled, finding the corpses inside.

After confirming the discovery, elements of the Secretary of Citizen Security cordoned off the area to preserve the scene and allow for the work of forensic experts from the State Attorney General's Office (FGE). The bodies were recovered in accordance with the law and were subsequently transferred to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) for autopsies to determine the cause of death.

The identity of the victims has not been revealed at this time, nor has it been confirmed if they were persons directly related to the armed attack registered in the area. Authorities continue to investigate the events to clarify how they occurred and if they are linked to recent episodes of violence in Cancún.

The discovery reinforces the concerns of residents of Supermanzana 243, who have repeatedly reported the presence of violent incidents in the El Esfuerzo colony. The FGE reiterated that it will continue with security operations and corresponding investigations to locate those responsible.
