TULUM — Now established as one of the most anticipated cultural events of the year, the Conscious Film Festival will celebrate its seventh edition from November 14 to 16 at the basketball dome of the Dos Aguas park, solidifying its role as a platform that promotes social and environmental dialogue through cinema. With a family-friendly, free, and alcohol-free approach, the gathering seeks to inspire active community participation around themes that transcend the screen.

Damiana, a member of the organizing committee, explained that over the three days, eleven films of different genres and countries will be screened, each accompanied by a conversation with invited directors.

"We use cinema as a tool to generate safe spaces for dialogue and to talk about issues of local impact with global repercussions," she commented.

The programming will include titles such as Amanita, El halcón: sed de venganza, Every Little Thing, Fulgores, Itsanaxa: la cosecha sagrada, Karuara: la gente del río, Monstruo de Xibalbá, Papá Melissa, Spiritum, Trazos del cielo, and Yaxche’oob. The stories address themes of identity, environmental justice, spirituality, and hope from creative and diverse perspectives.

In addition to the screenings, the festival will offer workshops, talks, and a closing concert by the artists Pat Boy and Piel Canala. One of the highlighted workshops will present an innovative technique for cultivating edible mushrooms in sargassum, promoting the transformation of marine waste into sustainable opportunities.

As part of its ecological commitment, the organizers are promoting the construction of a "palapa cinema" in the Dos Aguas park, made from recycled and reused materials. Damiana invited the public to join the project through a GoFundMe collection, with the goal of maintaining free access for residents.

"The festival is an opportunity to reconnect with what is essential, to see good cinema, and to strengthen collective consciousness from an artistic and sustainable focus," emphasized the organizer.

With this, the Conscious Film Festival reaffirms its role as a cultural reference in Tulum and a meeting point between art, community, and the environment.
