Officials from the Civil Protection authorities in Tulum have issued a warning about an approaching Tropical Wave. The new weather system is expected to hit the coasts of Quintana Roo, putting the municipality of Tulum on high alert.
The Tropical Wave is predicted to start affecting the area from the early hours of Sunday, July 28, and continue until the afternoon. According to the meteorology department in Tulum, the system could bring scattered rainfall episodes that may persist into Monday.
In response to the impending weather event, the Civil Protection authorities have issued a series of recommendations to mitigate any potential damage. The advice includes keeping patios and rooftops clean to prevent objects from becoming windborne projectiles.
Residents are also urged to take extreme caution when driving on the highway. If possible, they should clear drains to allow free passage of rainwater and prevent severe flooding. The authorities emphasize the importance of staying updated with the daily weather forecast and taking the necessary precautions.
