Tulum Municipality Implements Incentive Program for Property Tax Payments

Tulum, Mexico — The Tulum Municipality has announced a strategy to encourage timely payment of the 2026 property tax, which includes raffling new vehicles among taxpayers who settle this fiscal obligation during the first months of the year.

The municipal authority reported that those who comply with property tax payment will automatically participate in monthly draws, aiming to strengthen revenue collection and ensure resources for public works and services.

Prizes to Be Raffled Among Compliant Taxpayers

According to the announcement, three units will be delivered as prizes, distributed as follows:

  • January: Suzuki Dzire car, 2026 model
  • February: Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX motorcycle, 2026 model
  • March: Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 motorcycle, 2026 model

The draws will be conducted among people who have paid their property tax within the period corresponding to each month.

Early Payment Discounts During First Quarter

In addition to the raffles, the municipal government will apply special discounts to those who make advance property tax payments as part of the beginning-of-year campaigns. The economic incentives will be as follows:

  • 30 percent discount in January
  • 15 percent discount in February
  • 10 percent discount in March

These reductions aim to facilitate compliance with this contribution and alleviate the economic burden on Tulum families.

Importance of Property Tax Payment for the Municipality

The Tulum Municipality emphasized that property tax payment is fundamental to continue infrastructure works, public services, and municipal programs, both in the municipal seat and in delegations and sub-delegations.

The revenue collection allows strengthening key areas such as urban maintenance, security, public lighting, and social actions benefiting the population.

Annual Payment and Call to Avoid Surcharges

The property tax is an annual tax, so authorities urged citizens to complete the procedure within established deadlines to avoid fines and surcharges.

Similarly, they invited people to take advantage of the valid discounts during the first months of the year, since once this period concludes, normal charges established by law will apply.
