Tulum, Mexico — The municipality of Tulum is preparing to become one of the venues for the Caribbean Culture Festival 2025, with a special concert scheduled for Saturday, November 29, in the esplanade of the Municipal Palace. This was announced by Municipal President Diego Castañón Trejo during his weekly conference “Tulum Communicates and Advances.”
The official stated that the show will begin at 7:00 p.m., featuring performances by two groups from Cuba, the guest country of this edition: Kopernico (MX), Fano (CU), and Los 4 de Cuba (CU), recognized for their energy, Caribbean rhythms, and strong stage presence. Additionally, the event will include an artisanal and gastronomic corridor so that Tulum residents and tourists can enjoy a complete cultural experience.
As part of the preliminary activities, the “Reading Between Waves” dynamic will take place at 5:00 p.m. at the entrance to Playa del Pueblo, an initiative aimed at utilizing and activating this new public space.
Castañón Trejo emphasized that the goal is to provide options for healthy coexistence for Tulum families and, at the same time, offer an additional attraction for visitors, considering that the destination currently records a 73% hotel occupancy rate.
During the conference, Chief Officer Juan Antonio Garza also reported that the City Council is analyzing staff profiles across all areas as part of a policy of austerity and efficiency. He indicated that adjustments are being made to payrolls and worker terminations to ensure that each position is filled by suitable profiles, with the aim of improving attention and services to citizens.
With these actions, the municipal government reiterated its commitment to transparency, culture, and direct engagement with the population, while strengthening the cultural offerings of the destination leading up to the Caribbean Culture Festival 2025.
