Tulum, Quintana Roo — Tulum is undergoing a historic transformation in its urban infrastructure with the construction of Centro Tulum, the municipality’s first formal shopping mall. This ambitious private project aims to boost the local economy by creating 900 direct and indirect jobs and opening more than 60 commercial spaces.
During an inspection tour, Mayor Diego Castañón Trejo highlighted that this development responds to rapid demographic growth and investor confidence in the area. “This space represents the vision and dynamism that our municipality is experiencing today,” the mayor said.
Confirmed Brands at Centro Tulum
The complex will not only be a service hub but also a comprehensive entertainment center. Among the well-known brands that have already secured their spots are:
- Entertainment and Health: Cinépolis and Smart Fit.
- Retail and Dining: Chedraui, Starbucks, Toks, and Domino’s.
- Department Stores: Coppel and Promoda.
Economic and Social Impact
With 60 planned stores, Centro Tulum seeks to centralize service offerings that previously forced residents to travel to neighboring cities. The creation of job vacancies will be a priority for Tulum families, strengthening the social fabric in one of the fastest-growing cities in the Mexican Caribbean.
Castañón Trejo reiterated that the municipal government will continue to facilitate conditions to attract projects that respect the environment while ensuring the modernization of Tulum’s commercial infrastructure.
