Tulum Debuts at World Wellness Weekend With Three Days of Wellness

Tulum, Quintana Roo — For the first time, Tulum will take part in the global World Wellness Weekend, with a three-day program from Sept. 18-20 offering free activities, a bicycle rally, a 7K running dance and collective meditations for residents and visitors.

During the event’s presentation, Patricia de la Torre said Tulum’s participation is an opportunity to reinforce its identity as a wellness destination and to link tourism with conservation and quality of life. The initiative calls on hotels, spas, gyms and local organizations to add open and accessible activities.

The schedule begins Friday with activities at Bloom by Marriott and a bike rally through Aldea Zamá with cash prizes. Saturday features a Running Dance 7K at the Tren Maya station, combining exercise and music. On Sunday, simultaneous beach activities and a group meditation at Parque del Jaguar will take place under the theme “A message of love for the planet.”

Local organizers Mario Cruz Rodríguez and Manuel Cano said the goal is for the event to transcend the weekend and build lasting collaborations among the community, the private sector and environmental organizations.

World Wellness Weekend is a global movement that organizers estimate involves about 15,000 venues across 190 countries. Tulum’s debut in 2026 adds it to that international roster, and organizers are inviting hotels, restaurants, wellness centers and the public to join with free or participatory activities focused on sustainable practices and care for the natural environment.
